Dolls! I was so excited I got the opportunity to interview London-based actor, Katy Notley! Check out my Q & A session with her below, and you can follow Katy on Twitter too!

Q: Where are you from?

Katy: I was born in Cornwall, by the sea in a beautiful little town. When I turned 18 I was accepted into stage school and I moved to London. I spent last year touring Italy, and now I’m back to living in London.

Q: How did you break into the acting business?

Katy: Having a dance/drama school background was really helpful, and having a good headshot was vital. I put myself forward for as many auditions as I could and landed my first tour through audition and interviews!

Q: How does fitness play a role in your acting career?

Katy: Keeping fit and healthy is key in the acting industry. Firstly because of casting, you need to be the best you can be. Casting directors and agents only see a picture of you to begin with, and you have to make sure you’re at your best. Keeping fit is also super important because it maintains a healthy body and gives you great stamina, something you need when bouncing from job to job.

Q: What are some of your beauty secrets?

Katy: I always use a bright eye pencil on my inner water line. It opens the eye up and makes your eyes look fresh and awake. I also make sure I drink a glass of water and moisturize my face before any makeup application each morning. It wakes the face up and already gives you a nice glow.

Q: What kind of acting do you do?

Katy: When you first start out in the acting industry, you can’t afford to be choosy. There are so many other people wanting the same thing that when you land a job it’s something to be celebrated! I’ve done everything from T.I.E, theatre, acting for camera and musical theatre.

Q: What advice would you give young girls wanting to break into acting?

Katy: The one piece of golden advice I have is to keep at it. There will be times when it seems like you’re never going to get a job and you want to give up. Try and remember your passion and I promise, when you get that job it’s the most amazing feeling!
