Drink Up: Optimal Hydration

I hope you have all decided to get in the best shape of your life. We all have the power. Making the choice to change your lifestyle is the best decision you can make for yourself and your family. Believe me, I’m sure they want you around for a long time, and I’m sure you want to feel the best you can feel.

Something you need to remember when working out daily is optimal hydration. Are you getting enough water? I’m sure a lot of you are saying yes, but believe me, you can be dehydrated without realizing it.

Water is one of the six classes of nutrients. Your body needs it. Our bodies are made up of 60 percent water by weight. Water provides proper functioning of our cells and organs. Our body uses water to convert food into energy, regulates our body temperature, and carries nutrients and oxygen through our bodies.

The average person loses 2.5 quarts daily, and that’s not even included when we exercise. We need at least 14-22 ounces per day. Please drink that water daily. Make it your goal to get your body to function optimally!

Kale is known as one of the most amazing super foods around. It is being used in smoothies, salads, juices, and much more. I can’t tell you enough how much kale can add to your health, so that’s why I’m going to list six benefits of this amazing supergreen!

  1. Kale is a huge detoxifier. It detoxes your system by removing toxic buildup from the body.
  2. It’s an anti-inflammatory.
  3. It promotes omega 6 and omega 3 balance.

This amazing green is the superfood of all foods to me. Since I have been eating kale, which is daily, I have seen such differences in my energy level and skin. Try everyday to get your greens! Mango Black Bean Salsa

Hi ladies!

Summer time is coming; that’s when the cookouts start and family and friends come over. When that time comes at my house, it’s all about good food. I wanted to share one of my favorite salsa recipes with you that I make for all my cookouts, and it’s a huge hit. It’s mango and black bean salsa. This salsa is great with pita chips or pita bread.

-3 mangos diced
-1 can black beans (organic seasoned)
-1/2 onion diced
-1 tsp garlic powder
-1/2 teaspoon cumin
-1 lime juiced
-1/3 cup cilantro
-Salt and pepper (optional)

Combine all the ingredients and enjoy!
