Great Ways to clean Eating

Hi Ladies!

We all know how hard it is to change our eating patterns, or the types of foods that we have chosen to eat. We have built up a tolerance for certain foods, and we just eat those foods on a daily basis. Like a lot of peoples choices, those foods may not be exactly healthy. Eating clean is so vital to our health, and as I’ve said before, as we age , we need to eat as healthy as possible to stay at the top of our game. I’m going to list some great ways to start the “clean Eating ” process, and you need to understand this is NOT a diet, but a way of living. If you have been eating preservative filled foods for a while now, it may take you a month or two to adapt to this lifestyle, but I can assure you , it’s well worth it.

_Drink more water-  Drinking more water is always filling, and water is vital to our health. Drinking the recommended amounts every day, keeps the toxins flushed out, and keeps our organs flushed. make sure to drink clean, fresh water every day.

-Clean out your pantry and fridge. – Cleaning out your pantry and fridge is the first step to clean eating. Get rid of the foods filled with preservatives, and additives, or any “fake food”. That’s exactly what I call it, because that is what it is. Try to replace your eggs with egg whites, or in the beginning start with a meal. Little replacements to healthier alternatives is the key. Replacing white rice with brown rice is an example also. There are so many great ideas on pinterest, that you can research.

Buy those fruits and veggies- I cant tell you how many wonderful recipes, appetizers, snacks, ect can be used with great veggies, and fruits , and are absolutely delicious. ready to eat a snack? Grab an apple, or some almonds. It will truly do your body good.

Do not shop in the middle of a grocery store. If you are heading to the store, try to shop around the perimeter of the grocery aisles. That is exactly where the healthy products are, and the middle is where the fake food is kept. You will find nothing in those middle aisles that are healthy.

Cook at home- Cooking at home, and making your own meals, is so much healthier than what you will find in any restaurant. I can guarantee you that. You have no idea what oils, or items are used in those entrees to get that amazing taste.

Doing these little baby steps at home will get you to that healthier lifestyle. You need to find a good balance in how you are making the changes. You may not be able to change in a day or a week, or even a month, but making the smallest changes will get you eating healthier.

    Great article, thanks for the tips! What are your thoughts on organic vs conventional fruits and veggies though? I really want to go for organic but they are just so pricey 🙁

      I really have a List of what I go buy when buying organic .,I’d say that everything I buy is about 90 percent organic in terms of fruits & veggies! A few here and there I don’t such as bananas. I can send you a list if you want. Just email me your email address at mdroulos@aol.com
