Top excuses that can cause Weight Gain

Weight Gain is such a huge problem in the world today. Not to mention, it’s one of the top reasons people get ill, and get inflammation in the body. Inflammation is the culprit to many diseases and illnesses. It’s a problem today due to the craziness and chaos that surrounds us daily. Our schedules are busy, and we’ve are feeling pulled between daily rituals daily. One thing is for sure.. we have to take care of ourselves to live better lives. It’s up to us to feel our healthiest and be as healthy as we can as we age.

One of the biggest excuses I hear people say is that they have no time. Make the time ! You are worth it. Your family and your health will thank you later. It’s up to you to make the decision to lose weight and get healthy. Here are the top 5 excuses for gaining weight. If you don’t change your outlook, things will not change for you. 

  • I have no time! Who does these days? Time will never slow down. One thing that gets taken from the list will be replaced by something new. Make the time. Cut an hour out every morning If you have to. If you can make time to go to Starbucks, you can make time for the gym. 
  • Food is expensive! Food will always be expensive, but what’s better? Eating healthy and feeling good, or being sick and heading to the doctor? INvest in yourself. Good food is expensive for  reason. Take the time to buy real wholesome food. It will change your body, mind and spirit.
  • I cant get motivated! Unmotivation is a sign of laziness to me. You are worth that motivation. Make goals, set up a goal list for yourself, promise yourself a great pair of shoes for the weight you lose. It’s all about balance . Laziness stems from the mind. A strong mind is motivated.
  • I can’t control my cravings! Everyone has them! I have them. I crave chocolate, but I opt everyday for a piece of dark chocolate. There are ways around your cravings. Everything now days can be substituted for something healthy. Allow yourself your favorites for getting yourself in shape. Do it sparingly.
  • I hate being in the gym! Who says you need the gym? YOU have two legs. Get out and start running or jogging or even walking. It’s great toning, and awesome for the heart. INvest in some online videos, weights , or workout subscriptions. You don’t need to join a gym to get in shape. If you move, your on your way!

Remember that making time to get in shape and workout will be so much more rewarding then making excuses of why you can’t. You can!!! YOU have to change your mind set. It’s up to you.


5 Habits of Successful women

I recently did a poll with some successful women who I feel have taken their strengths and helped improve the lives of others, or have really deepened their goals or expanded their businesses due to passion and drive. I know what makes me that way, but it interested me to know , ” what makes them tick”? It’s amazing what I came up with. To me, here are 5 amazing habits of Successful women. 

  • Wake up Early- every woman I talked with woke early. It is a mixture of ready to start their day, they have superb ideas to help their businesses, and it gives them time to themselves for a bit. They have time to eat a healthy breakfast, workout if needed, and have ” me” time.
  • Very mindful- these women take atleast 10 minutes every morning upon waking to count their blessings, do 10 minutes of meditations, clear their heads before jumping on their phones. They feel their minds are more focused after doing this.
  • Make their beds- Most of these women make their beds once they jump out of bed. They feel that they seem more calm with one less thing to do, and like most ” OCD ” people, they like their bed nice and neat.
  • Conquer their To Do list- Most of these women have To Do lists. They seem to think that once all their first three things are accomplished, the TO DO list comes out. Most of the women said that they can get atleast 2-3 things done off their list , even before heading out the door. They say that just an extra 30 minutes each morning is helpful.
  • They work out- All these women make sure that they get their workouts in every day. They feel that feeling healthy and fit accompanies their motivation and determination for getting tasks accomplished.

These are great habits to accomplish even if you don’t own a business, or work full time. Taking time for yourself is the key to a good balance of keeping your self motivated and inspired everyday to start another day of creativity.



Gluten Free Chocolate Pancakes

It’s Chocolate month , and there is no other way of celebrating it , other than with the Best pancakes on Earth. These Gluten Free Chocolate Pancakes are to die for. I love making these on the weekends. I do add bananas and walnuts sometimes, so that is an option. I did add the bananas to the recipe. These are a healthy breakfast option for any chocolate lover. 

  • 1 cup gluten free oat flour
  • 1/4 cup arrowroot starch
  • 1/3 cup raw cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 organic eggs ( cage free)
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk

You want to place all the ingredients in a food processor , and mix until smooth. On a heated skillet, add a bit of coconut oil and let melt. Scoop the batter of the size of pancake you want, allow to cook then flip. You can make all the Pancakes you desire. I love topping mine with a bit of real maple syrup and cinnamon. Any toppings are your choice. For this month, have a bit of fun and cut them into hearts.


The Best Exercises for your Glutes and Booty

The swimsuit season is around the corner and who doesn’t want to get their booty in shape. That seems to be the one body part that most women complain about. If you find yourself being short on time, or just find yourself not being a “class” person, there are many exercises that you can do to give your butt a great lift. Hard work really does pay off. Weight loss and toning requires a combination of a great diet and the right exercises. You cant expect to get a great ass if you are eating donuts for breakfast and then hitting the gym. Cardio can help improve the weight you lose, but it’s the booty exercises that will reshape and tone. Here is a list of my favorite butt toning and glute exercises.

  • Do a high impact elliptical for your cardio. If you have to start out small on the incline, then work your way up, that is fine. This will increase your intensity also while being low impact.
  • Running or jogging up trails are great for the butt muscles. This helps your butt, glutes and hips. Jogging , not walking will do this.
  • Jumping Rope- I love jumping rope. If you jump in 1-2 minute intervals, then rest ,then do 2-5 more sets, you will start feeling great.
  • Stair running- this is perfect for reshaping your butt and glutes. You will definitely feel the burn. Try to create sets . This is also Heart-healthy.
  • Squats and Lunges- The number of squats and lunges you do will totally redefine the glue muscles, and you will notice your butt taking shape. Everyone wants the uplifted ,firm butt. You want to make sure that you are working out everyday for at least 45 minutes. If you come up with a great workout plan or want to grab a workout class, make sure that its for at least 45 minutes. You know that you are getting a hard workout . A great ass will not take long to get if you put the work in.
