The Ruffle Revolution in Fashion

If you ever talk to anyone that knows me, they will tell you that I absolutely love fashion. Honestly, shopping cures all. One thing I’m loving right now is the Ruffle trend. They are adding them to everything that could fit into ones closet. The Ruffle off-the-shoulder tops are one of my favorites right now. That paired with a great skirt is perfect for a casual day. If you are looking for a more formal , cocktail attire, the dresses with the added Ruffle in the front is also a hit. Ruffles have always been a decor additive in fashion as long as I can remember. I remember My daughter wearing ruffles everyday as a little girl. They always added cuteness to the outfit, and it’s no different today. The tips that we are seeing come in many different ruffled styles. It’s just a great way to add a little chic to any outfit.

Yoga has been around for centuries, and lately it seems to be growing more rapidly. It has even grown to the likes of Wall Street in NYC with “lunch sessions ” being given to the high stressed jobs of stock brokers and traders. There are so many benefits to yoga, that how can one not incorporate a downward dog into their day. Studies have shown that yoga can help with lowering blood pressure, help lower stress levels, and pain management. Studies have shown that chiropractor’s have even incorporated yoga sessions into their clients regimens to help alleviate back pain . The benefits are all so amazing, that yoga will continue to grow. Yoga isn’t just for the trendy people, we are seeing hard-core athletes take yoga by storm. My son is a perfect example. He uses his body so much at a high impact rate, that yoga has helped him with preventing injury and preventing back pain. According to studies, More and More professional athletes are taking it us to help with keeping their bodies flexible during the season. They have seen a decline in injury with the athletes that are doing it. kill that stress

We want more flexibility as we age. Our bones and muscles tend to not be as “young” as they once were, so its important to incorporate a good practice of exercise into our daily habits. Yoga helps keep the core flexible also. The core is the limelight of our bodies, and a strong core helps us maintain efficiency in our daily lives. It helps lengthen and stretch your muscles in a very effective way. Adding a great yoga class in with good wholesome nutrition helps maintain balance in the body, and to prevent inflammation from occurring. Its helpful in relieving tension and stress in such a huge way. Try grabbing that next Yoga class that pops up, or try one out for that matter. Who ever wants stress anyway?

Want a healthy heart? Get Good Sleep

The correlation between good heart health and good sleep goes back a long way. Research shows that people who suffer from sleep apnea, or poor quality of sleep takes a toll on your heart. Research recently showed that people over age 45 who slept fewer than 6 hours a night had a higher rate of stroke and heart attacks. Lack of sleep affects your blood pressure, heart rate, and muscle contraction in the heart. Get good sleep

Sleep is so important, and lack of it also affects glucose-metabolism, and risk for diabetes. People often ask, ” what is a good nights sleep? Studies show that the majority of us need at least 7-9 hours a night. This re focuses our brains, and helps with the release of stress. Without long periods of sleep, this increases our risk for high blood pressure which leads to multiple health problems. Lack of sleep increases our irritability to day to day tasks, increases anxiety levels, restricts the blood vessels. A multitude of heart problems are directed straight to a lack of sleep.

The key to good heart health is finding a balance of what sleep is required of you. Getting to bed at a decent hour, early to bed, early to rise, is a good key. You should wake up feeling refreshed and have more energy than normal.

Great ways to get better sleep are :

-keep your regular bedtime routine. Don’t change it.

-try to avoid drinking alcohol before bed. This totally disrupts sleep and can keep you tossing and turning all night.

-avoid drinking water an hour or two before bed. You will be taking bathroom visits all too much.

-avoid exercising right before bed. This keeps you up due to the energy you just created.

-drink some soothing tea before bed such as lavender or chamomile. This has a relaxing effect on the body.

 

Make GOOD sleep a priority to reduce heart problems and improve your health overall.

7 Herb Salad

Hey Ladies!

I wanted to include this amazing 7 herb salad that you can add into your weekly clean eating recipes. This salad is cleansing and adds in so many health benefits that prevents inflammation in the body. 

I added in string green beans  mine. You can add in any type of vegetable.

4 snap peas

1/2 bunch parsley

1/2 Bunch mint

1/2 bunch basil

1/2 bunch chives

1/2 bunch chervil

1/2 bunch dill

4 ounces baby spinach

1 bulb fennel

1 tablespoon lemon juice

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

cut the snap peas in thirds. PUll the leaves from herbs. Throw everything together with your olive oil. Deliciousness!!!
