Immune Boosting Green Smoothie

Hello ladies!

It is that time of the year when sickness is going around, and keeping out immune systems in tip top shape is so important when we are around different people and on the go non stop. Immune Boosting is Key. I find that taking time each day to take the required supplements and getting in enough exercise can truly help you reduce your chances of catching those pesky viruses. I truly believe in ingesting plenty of healthy fruits and vegetables daily to keep your immunity up. One reason we catch crazy sicknesses is our immune system needs built up. Immunity plays such a huge role in fighting off nasty sicknesses. Boosting our immunity is key. This Green Smoothie recipe is one that I make almost every day. It’s not only delicious, but it is filled with so many immune boosters that it is perfect for keeping yourself healthy and thriving. You can also add in some extras like Acai powder or Maca for a little more protection.

-1.5 cups organic almond milk

-1/2 apple

-1 bunch of kale (small )

-1 bunch of spinach

-3 celery stalks

-5 slices of cucumber

-pinch of lemon juice

-pinch of ginger

Throw all of this in your juicer or blender and make the most delicious green drink of your life. Its very important to mix it up really good to avoid any chunks in your smoothie. Enjoy!

Health Tips for a New You!

Happy Sunday ladies!

The time has come where all the health resolutions come into place. The time where we get into the gym more, eat healthier options, and go grab a smoothie instead of a fat filled coffee drink from Starbucks. If you need some assistance in any way, I have some great tips on how to motivate yourself to lose those last pesky pounds. We all know that muscle weighs more than fat. If you are working out regularly and lifting weights, then the scale is automatically going to be higher. You don’t look at the scale ever. You go by the way your clothes fit on you. If you feel your jeans are a bit bigger, then your probably losing inches in that area or tightening and firming. These health tips will surely move you in the right directions.

  • Lose the bad carbs..when I say bad carbs I mean anything heavy and white. Potatoes, pasta, bread, and sweets. That all has hidden sugars which in turn doesn’t help with your weight loss. Stick to healthy carbs.. quinoa, brown rice only in small quantities.
  • Ingest the H20 like nothing else. Anything liquid to drink besides tea and water. Water is essential for weight loss. It flushed toxins and cleans the inside. It prevents dehydration and keeps our energy levels up. Make sure you are constantly drinking water.
  • Eat more leafy greens and vegetables. These foods are essential for your well being and energy levels and are loaded with antioxidants. Eating raw , clean healthy foods will help you on your way to weight loss. Pick light salads over heavy dressing salads. Don’t load your salad up with a ton of toppings. Instead load them up with colorful vegetables. It truly makes a difference.
  • Move more! Make a pact with yourself everyday that you are going to move! Exercise is the key to feeling good and having energy. Why not kill some calories while doing it. Walk daily, go to yoga, bike ride. Whatever it is, you will be better off after than you were before.

This is always a good time for a fresh start. Starting an exercise routine is always good for starting your health journey. Know that it does take time. Setting goals is always a good daily thing to adopt too. It really keeps you accountable for your health.

Always Be Bright Everyday and Don’t let anyone Dull your Sparkle

Hey Ladies!

Its a New Year and a New You! I hope you all had an amazing New Years! One thing that I love about starting the New Year is looking back and seeing how much fun I had that year and all the amazing memories I created. It makes me realize just how much I grew as a person, and all the goals and things I want to do for the new year. I actually start each year off with a beautiful journal and I set all my goals. Whether they are big or small, I set monthly goals and weekly goals and even daily goals. I feel when you set daily goals you can look back on the day and see if you achieved them. I think its easier to set daily goals. I reminded myself this year that I am starting each day off with “Priming” myself every morning. I think this is the perfect word. ( thank you Tony Robbins). I start my morning rituals by taking time every morning and doing my meditation, prayer and my daily affirmations. I get ready to start my day with my daily prayer and honestly it makes your day so much brighter. I feel I get so much more done. I wrote down all the things that I wanted to do, vacations I wanted to take, and a jumpstart kick on my health. I mean that is the most important right? Taking just 15 minutes every morning of “me time” is amazing. Starting the New year is also a great way to write down ways you want to get to know yourself better. it can be spending more time in nature, getting to more yoga classes, making new friends. It is up to us to know what we will allow and what we won’t allow. It can be no more cake or no more energy drainers as friends( yes I’ve been there). We are in charge of change. We are in charge of growth. Without change, there is NO growth. One thing I have learned along the way of the aging process is how much more wiser you become. You realize the importance of family, spending time with your loved ones more, eating healthier food, getting more exercise. No matter what your goals are, It’s a New Year, and It’s a fresh start to a New You! Every day should be peaceful and you should go out doing what you love and not letting anyone or anything dull your sparkle. Shine Bright Loves!
