How Do You Diet?

When you just know you want to shed a few pounds but are stuck choosing the right diet plan for you, how will you know you’ve made the right choice? Well, interestingly, most lifestyle and health gurus will tell you that there really isn’t a right plan, there’s just the right approach and that comes from you.

We take a look at a few issues you’re going to want to take into consideration when looking for your next healthy eating regime. First though, we’d always recommend going to talk to a doctor before you embark on any major change to your lifestyle.

How do you work?

Are you someone who wings life on the fly, never really making any plans until later in the day and living a busy, out and about kind of lifestyle? Perhaps you fall somewhere nearer the other end of the scale and would definitely see yourself as more of a homebody, quieter and generally fairly organised. Perhaps instead you fall somewhere between the two and have days when you embrace your spontaneous side or look forward to getting home, under a blanket and finishing off that Netflix box set.

You’ll need to find a diet that’s as individual as you are and one that fits seamlessly into your life and the way you live it.

One thing you should steer clear of, no matter what type of person you are, is celebrity-endorsed fad detox regimes. They very often do not work or work for a week or two before real life kicks in and you are left heavier than before and with an impressive hole in your bank account.

Instead think long term, sustainable goals that give you more than just a smaller waist line. Think food that will give you vitality, energy and variety rather than food that will simply help you to lose weight.

Different is good

There are plenty of varied and different diets out there to choose from. Some that will help you start losing weight with the help of an app and some that simply require you to choose from a set of restrictive food lists, such as the Keto diet.

Whatever you choose, you simply need to make sure that it will work for you. You will also need to be guided on how much it costs. Most diet regimes cost money, so make your investment carefully. Whether one diet works better or is more effective than another is broadly irrelevant. Health experts and lifestyle bloggers agree that the real key to weight loss is your approach. If you stick to something, no matter what it is, you will see results. Choosing something sustainable and long term will help keep that weight off, which is often where people feel like they’ve failed. Change your mindset from diet to lifestyle changes and you’ll stand a far greater chance of making decisions that have sticking power and creating a happier, healthier and better fed you, now and on into the future.

Ensuring You Stay Up-To-Date In Your Fitness Life

Fitness is of course one of the most important things we can gift ourselves in the long term. It’s also the one thing that can quite reliably change someone’s life for the better. Take the same person when obese and in shape, and it’s not hard to tell who will be the happy variant. However, while the basics of fitness often stay the same (ergonomic exercise with solid form will always be superior,) sometimes new knowledge can come out to help you optimize your results, to help you with your motivation, and to ensure you feel more motivated than ever to keep in shape and comfortable.

There are many excellent podcasts out there to help you stay motivated and keep in the loop when it comes to exercise. While Joe Rogan has on many various guests, he is also known for a liking of bringing Doctors and fitness trainers on the show, and they often lend insight that is hard to find anywhere else, especially during that three hour format. Audible also offers a range of cheap audiobooks detailing exercise science in a digestible manner, a manner that could potentially help you take your workout efforts to the next logical step. A podcast or audiobook is the ultimate convenience, and can often be listened to when working out hard.

Read Relevant Blogs

There are many essential blogs out there, and they often aren’t paid the respect they are due. Finding an excellent health and wellness blog, becoming familiar with the writings there and digesting their own unique take or perspective on the future of fitness and diet can help you stick with a solid informational feed and stream of ideas that are expressed professionally. As time progresses and you learn more and more, you’ll begin to benefit deeply from the connected information and understand you absorbed, and apply those teachings in your own life.

Read Forums

Not only can it be worthwhile to read important informational sources or listen to them when you can, but reading forums and contributing to discussions can help you learn more about your own mindset, understanding, and the problems you might be facing. Using others for advice, or giving advice to others can be an extremely positive atmosphere, and potentially help you expand your knowledge to levels you might not have even considered beforehand. We would recommend heading to specialized health forums for this, or even using universal and much-attended discussion forums such as Reddit.

With these tips, you are sure to stay up to date in your fitness life, to remain continually enthused by it, and gain plenty in the long term as result.

My Spring Break Favorites

Hey Friends!

Spring is right around the corner, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to feel the sunshine, and hear the birds chirping. How about you? I want to share some of my Favorite Spring Break Favorites .

There is so many cute items out these days. I am loving the bright colors that are coming back, and the long maxi dresses never seem to go out of style. They are personally some of my favorites with a cute pair of sandals.

If you are one that loves to wear your hair up, I have the perfect hair wrap that is so cute. It comes in a few different colors, and it can be worn as a hair tie, or even a hair wrap. It’s nice to tie your hair up after being in the sun all day. I love buns, so I usually wrap mine up if I have been catching rays all day. How about you? These are just a few of my Favorite Things that I have bought to add to my Spring Break Favorites.

Lost Your Fitness Mojo in the Winter Months? Here are 5 Tips To Help You Make The Most of Winter Training

The long winter days can be enough to make even the most steadfast fitness fanatic want to miss the workout, hideaway under blankets and curl up with something warm and comforting.

However, if you are serious about your fitness, it is essential that you don’t risk jeopardizing the routine you worked for the rest of the year to perfect. Just a few weeks away from training can undo all your hard work, so use the winter to get you motivated. There may be the odd days where awful weather stops you from getting out there but on the days that it is possible,  focus that energy into beating your own personal bests, tightening your core and really getting yourself ready for the spring.

Here, we share a few tips to help you make the most of the winter months.

1) Have the right clothing and equipment

As the old saying goes, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing choices. To train outdoors, it is vital that you have the correct clothes to keep you safe, comfortable and warm. This includes thermal gloves, headbands, leggings, and sensible base layers. Base layers help to trap a layer of warm air between the clothing and the skin and wick away any moisture created by sweat. Remember, visibility is often reduced in the colder and darker months, and one moment the weather might be ok, and the next it is dense fog and mist. If you are outdoors, make sure you are wearing high visibility, fluorescent or reflective clothing, and if possible, wear a head torch.

2) Stay Indoors

Sometimes, the weather is just too dangerous to go outside, so dig out that treadmill from the garage or head to the gym for some personal strength training. If you do not have access to expensive fitness equipment or the gym, you can do a workout at home with items found around your house – tins and bottles make excellent weights.  You can also find a wide range of exercises for free on YouTube to suit every ability and fitness level.

3) Consider the effect that winter training has on the body

Research has shown that our bodies actually burn fat quicker and more effectively than in warmer temperatures. The body raises its core temperature to keep you warm and begins to burn any areas of brown fat, so if you’re trying to lose some weight, the colder weather may be of some benefit!

4)  Find yourself an accountability partner

Sometimes, when it is almost too tempting to stay in bed and forget the training, an exercise buddy or accountability partner can be helpful. It is much harder to let somebody else down than it is yourself, so it is a superb tool for motivation. It also makes those training sessions a little bit more fun and enjoyable.

5) Remind yourself why it is important

When you’re all warm and tucked up on the sofa under a blanket it can be easy to forget why you are training and the feelings of euphoria and adrenaline that come after a good workout. When you are training, your body releases feel-good hormones – which will help blast away those winter blues and get you both mentally and physically ready for the summer months.

My Spring Break Shape Up

Happy Thursday !

The Spring Season is just around the corner, and that means Spring Break is right behind. I don’t know about you, but feeling good and feeling in shape during that time is just as important. I have some of my favorite tips for getting in a Good Spring Shape Up.

Get that booty in Shape the Right Way

It’s really easy to get in a rut during the Winter with your diet and exercise routine. I know f or me personally that I love to fully enjoy the Holiday and that means great food and Good Wine. I always make note at the beginning of the year is when my health habits kick back in. This Winter I have switched to a full Plant based diet and I absolutely love it. I don’t think I will ever go back. I’m not saying that works for everyone, but with these helpful tips, I believe you will be back in shape in no time.

-Make sure you are Drinking Loads of Water Every Day. I start in the morning, and don’t end my H20 intake until night time. Replace any drinks with water. It truly helps your body stay hydrated and to flush those toxins out. It also keep you energized through out the day. WATER IS A MUST!

-Make sure you are adding in 30-45 minutes of Exercise each Day. If this is not doable for you , then start out with 15 min and work your way up. Even adding in a walk or run is great for Cardio. I toss my workouts up. I tend to get bored very easily. I get in at least 2-3 days of yoga a week. ( Yes I absolutely Love Yoga). I do weight training and cardio every day almost. It just makes me feel so much better and stronger. I do add in a Pilates class here and there. Working out is a huge Passion of mine. -Stick to a Healthy Diet Always! I’m not saying you cant have a cheat day, but don’t make it weekly. Try to stick to Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and Whole Grains every day. You can add so many amazing recipes to your daily diet by getting creative with Fresh Fruits and Vegetables. If this seems hard for you at first, start out small. Try to have one to two meals or snacks healthy a day. If you are wanting a quick shape up , it is vital that you watch your portion controls along with your food choices.

-Try to fix you own meals more often. I find that making my meals at home is so much more healthier. You don’t get the hidden oils and fats that a lot of the restaurants use. I love cooking wholesome meals at home and eating with my family. I’m not saying that you cant enjoy a night out. It’s imperative that if you do eat out, pick healthy choices.

-Stay away From the Alcohol while getting in your Shape Up. Alcohol has so many empty calories and a lot of those drinks are loaded with sugar. I love Wine, but I have it Sparingly these days. If you want to have a cocktail, use substitutes so that its not so fattening.

If you follow these tips to a T, I know you will get in the Best shape Up For Spring Break. It is very important to realize what you are putting in your mouth. Staying away from fattening dressings, alcohol, fried foods, refined sugars, and preservative filled foods will get you there quick, with plenty of exercise. If you need to keep a journal of your eating, always write it down. Start now and you will start feeling and looking your best.
