The Best Way To Keep Energy Levels Up All Day

Summer is finally here and that means late summer nights and lots of fun. One thing that can really make you crave your bed earlier is tiring out early. Energy Levels can fluctuate up and down if you are not taking care of yourself the way you should be. If you are eating lots of sugar or drinking way too many cocktails, that can really make your energy levels linger day to day. I have a few tips on how to keep those energy levels up throughout the BEST season of the year.

DRINK PLENTY OF H2O

I can’t tell you how much hydration helps with energy levels. I can always tell when I need more water. I start to hit that late afternoon rock. I try to keep water with me all day and drink all day. I even add fruit to it so it doesn’t seem so boring. Hydration is key to any healthy lifestyle. We lose so much water just through movement alone. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be working out to replace water. The best thing I do is make my water each morning before walking out the door. If you are busy in the mornings, make it the night before. It will be nice and chilled for you when you wake up.

Healthy Breakfast Option

EAT A HEALTHY LIGHT BREAKFAST

I am not going to sit here and tell you that I eat breakfast every morning. I usually do a 16 hour intermittent fast. This keeps my energy levels up like no other, but that doesn’t always work for everybody. I recommend eating a light breakfast such as a healthy juice, or smoothie loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. I find that the heavier meal you eat first thing in the morning wears your energy levels down. Everyone is different so choose wisely. Avocado toast is always a great choice.

EXERCISE IN THE MORNING

I find that exercising in the morning really helps my energy levels. I truly love fitness and I feel it’s key when wanting to live healthier and happier. I feel exercise helps keep energy levels stable all day long. If you are a yoga crazy like me, that is a great start to any morning. If you are a runner, try to hit your running in the morning. I feel that exercising in the late afternoon or evening really doesn’t help keep your energy up. It makes me want to go to bed. I try to avoid any exercise late at night, especially if I have a summer fling to go to or any plans made with friends.

KEEP THE COCKTAILS TO A MINIMUM

I am the first to admit, I LOVE my wine. I really do. I just have really cut back on my cocktails. I feel at times, depending on the wine itself, that many make me feel tired early. A few have me tossing and turning at night. I don’t like not getting a good amount of sleep. I go hard through the days and I love my nights up in the summer. If I have wine, I hydrate well in between and cut back on the amount of glasses I allow myself. I actually love it. I do splurge on my vacations. Alcohol can wreak havoc on your sleep and health. Keep it balanced. You will feel so much better.

Summer is about having fun. We are avid travelers, but I love spending summer nights listening to music, hanging with my friends and family and eating amazing summer cuisine. Take care of your health and you will have loads of energy to make many more great Summer Memories.
