Delicious Avocado Boats for your snack

Are you a Avocado lover? If you are anything like me, then that would be a Yes! We all know how great avocados are for you, and they are just as delicious. The antioxidants that they contain are beyond measure. They are loaded up with the BEST fats that your body needs. The vitamins and minerals in an avocado are everything your body needs on a daily basis. I feel as if some days I eat too many avocados. I put them in my salads, egg dishes, Mexican casseroles, and so forth. There are so many great ways to incorporate avocados into your daily diet. People seem to think that they only taste good with “Mexican dishes”. That is clearly not true.

One item that I love to make on busy days are Avocado boats. You simply can slice the avocado down the middle, and take the filling and make a dip that is healthy to put inside of it. I often throw many vegetables together and put it in as the filling. These are perfect on the go snacks. They can also be incorporated into a healthy lunch as well. A few great ideas for avocado boats are placing a slice of smoked salmon with fresh mango and lime juice. You can also take Ahi Tuna and mix with sesame oil and a few sesame seeds with a little ginger. This is very tasty. My all time favorite is placing the avocado filling inside with a mixture of corn, tomatoes, olives,and black beans with a little lime juice. I do put a bit of hot sauce on the top. It is truly to die for. My favorite recipe is down below.

  • 2  organic avocados

  • 1/4 cup organic black beans
  • 1/3 cup corn
  • 1/5 cup olives chopped
  • 1 small tomato chopped


Take the two avocados and cut in the middle. take the filling of each avocado and put in a small bowl. chop all the other vegetables up. Take the vegetables and place on the side. fill each avocado boat up with the filling and place the veggie mixture on top. place the basil on top of each boat. Breakfast boost? Avocado on toast

We all know that eating a healthy breakfast is essential to good health. I know lots of times we can get stuck in a rut, eating the same breakfast over and over again, and getting bored, even though we may be making healthy choices.

One of my favorites for a breakfast choice is avocado on toast. Avocado is a superfood for a variety of reasons. This green superfood is known to lower your cholesterol due to the mono saturated fats found in avocado. It provides you with 30 percent of this healthy fat every day. It will also keep your bad cholesterol at bay, which in turn helps reduce strokes and heart disease, which by the way is rising in women.

Avocado also works to boost your brain. Loaded with vitamin E, and omega 3 fatty acids, these are critical to keep your brain working optimally.

This green superfood also helps with weight loss. They are rich in fiber, and monounsaturated fatty acids. It helps you to experience hunger less often, and helps your body digestive system work more properly. With less hunger, you will stave off more calories.

Avocados help your blood pressure stay in tact, and helps maintain overall good health. Avocados are loaded with potassium, which in turn plays a huge role in keeping your blood pressure down. It provides you with approximately 14 percent of what your body needs daily.

 Toss up your breakfast options weekly, and try an avocado on toast. Sprinkled with a little pepper, it’s a great breakfast option, or add an avocado to your egg whites. There are many ways to incorporate that superfood into some of your meals. Your health will thank you.
