I’ve been blogging for about 4 years now, and never imagined I’d be where I am right now. It has grown and Ive met some amazing people and formed great partnerships with them. It can take a while to get your blog where you want it, and with some good tips , you can be on your way. First and foremost, be patient with it. It takes time. It’s a lot of hard work and dedication, but ultimately it fun!

  • Always reinvent your blog.- I’m always trying out new templates to go with my style of writing. People like to see change, with bold colors, and good text. I have found a great template designer, Pipdig, who does amazing work. The templates are classy, and sexy. Try to find something that translates with your style of blog.
  • Always stay fresh with your content- Google picks up on keywords and Fresh content. That’s what they love seeing. Always make sure that you take the time to write out your blog posts. Never get in a hurry to post. Always keep a schedule for when you want a fresh post to go up. Try writing about different topics and stay away from writing on topics you have already written about. They can stay within the same realm, but alway write fresh.
  • Invest in the Best- when I say this, always invest in the best templates, camera, equipment up front. I have spent a bit on my templates, and some advertising, but in the end, it’s worth it. I’m getting ready to invest in one of the best cameras for my photos. Your followers love to see fresh photography and gorgeous photos. If you are doing a photo shoot, invest in a good photographer. I’m getting ready to do that for my fashion spreads.
  • Become a Social Media crazy- your followers will love every place they can find you. I’ve got tons of followers on my favorite social media site Twitter. I love that site, and that is where I have my posts scheduled. I have met so many amazing people through Twitter. Let people find you. The more your found, the better off your blog will be.

It takes a lot of work to make your blog what you want it to be, but in the end, it will Become a dynamic tool for what you love to do. Good luck!

8 great Tips for writing Great blog Posts

Hi Ladies!

I have recently received numerous emails asking me how I come up with my Blog content, and how I write such a creative blog. Well, I’m not going to say that its that creative, but I do try to add my own twist to my blog content. Blogging is fun, and has to be fun for you to do it every day, but the blog content comes from my love for fashion, fitness, and living a healthy lifestyle. I wanted to give you my 8 Tips for making your blog successful, and when I say this: IT TAKES TIME, I truly mean it. I have had my blog for almost two years, and it takes hard work, discipline, creativity, patience, long hours, and time to make it become successful. There are over 3 million active blogs right now, and its up to you ,to create a unique eye- catching blog with amazing content.

  • Look to add great titles that catch the eye. Believe me when I say this, adding a cute flirty title doesn’t always work. You need to add in your top key words for what you are actually writing your content on, so that google will notice that. Make sure you use your keywords in the first paragraph, and last. Google loves it.
  • Get into the Social Media world. Add in your like buttons, and your sharing buttons to all the top social media sites such as Twitter, Google, Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook. There are others such as Reddit, Tumblr, ect. Make sure you have all those widgets on there. People need to find your brand or name everywhere.
  • Make sure you are using hyper-links. If you are writing a blog post on an amazing lip color that you bought at Sephora, then give Sephora credit for that. If someone decides they would like to purchase that from your blog, all the credit comes back to you from that particular place.
  • Always make sure that you have relevant blog content. When you decide to write a post, make sure your readers are getting something from it. Google likes for you to have content that is easy to find. This comes back to using your keywords. Whether your readers are wanting that perfect outfit look, or wanting to find that perfect lipstick, or needing to know where to find it, Make sure you give them that information.
  • Your blogging platform needs to be creative. Add in videos, or certain plug-ins to make your blog more creative, and your content relevant. Keep your platform up to date with the newest features, and new versions that need to be downloaded.
  • Use perfect revision and editing. -Always make sure before you do a post, that your images are optimized, and your posts are proof-read to the highest distinction. It takes a good hour ( sometimes more), to go through your photos, to stage your photos to give them the best look, and editing takes just as long.
  • Set yourself apart from everyone else. Do you know the reason why I love my favorite blogs? Its because they are so creative on their own, and have their own brand. They know how they want to be seen, and their content brings me back for more. Always be creative.
  • Always make sure you format your blog post correctly, and always keep your blog posts fresh. Don’t ever write about bad things, and always come up with unique blog posts. People are always looking for new things to read about. People like seeing a point of view in blog posts, and keeping your ideas and information fresh is always the best bet. Don’t write about something that you wrote about four months ago.

There are my 8 great tips for having great Blog Posts. Remember that blogging takes time, and doesn’t happen over night. You need to enjoy what you do, and don’t expect anything in return. Good things will come.

9 Tips for Preventing Breakouts

if you are anything like me, you struggle with breakouts from time to time, and they are just as annoying every time you get them. While there is no miracle cure that will get rid of them in an instant, there are many things you can do to try to prevent them.

  • Wash your face every night and every morning .This one may be a given, but you’d be surprised to know how many women sometimes go to bed without removing their makeup. Make sure you clean your face properly before going to bed, or the makeup will be clogging your pores.
  • Clean your Makeup brushes. – When you use your brushes, they soak up any dirt and oil you have on your face, and the next time you use them, you’ll pretty much be rubbing that dirt and oil back into your face. It’s recommended to clean your brushes at least once a week. I often clean my brushes with the same cleanser I use for my face , but please note it will only work if it’s a makeup removing cleanser. You can otherwise use liquid dish soap, but make sure you rinse it out properly.
  • Change your pillowcase often.-Oil and dirt from your face transfer to your pillow while you are sleeping. Even if you do wash your face every night, dirt will build up and clog your pores and cause breakouts unless you change your pillowcase often. I recommend changing it atleast once a week , but preferably every couple of days.
  • Keep your hair out of your face.-Even if you wash your hair regularly, your hair transfers oils to your face, and can cause breakouts. Its recommended to keep your hair out of your face as much as possible. This is especially important if you use a lot of product in your hair.
  • Don’t touch your face. – We all do it, but we shouldn’t. I don’t know about you, but when Im bored at work, I often sit resting my chin in my hand. By doing this, your transferring dirt from your hands to your face, which in turn clogs pores and causes breakouts. So if your aware of doing this, wash your hands often.
  • Wash your face before and after exercising.– Sweat will clog your pores, so its important to wash your face after a workout. Wash your face before too, and don’t wear makeup during your workout session to prevent your clogs getting clogged.
  • Don’t squeeze your pimples. -I know its tempting, and it feels like they will go way faster if you squeeze them. This couldn’t be further from the truth. By squeezing them, youll transfer dirt from your hands to your face which in turn could cause more breakouts. You’ll also risk scarring. When your squeezing a pimple, you might also be spreading the bacteria inside the skin and you may end up with more pimples.
  • Reduce your stress levels.-Stress is never good, and could potentially cause you breakouts. If you feel stressed, think about the things you could do to reduce it. Perhaps try yoga, pilates, or simply go on a short holiday.
  • Moisturize even if you have oily skin.-When you don’t moisturize, your skin will try to create it own oils instead, and this can cause breakouts. I know from experience that it can feel really strange to moisturize when you know that your skin isn’t dry, but trust me , It really does help. sfCheck out Sophias blog at http://www.swekiwi.com

A Guide to Getting Fit and Staying Fit: An Athletes Perspective

Hi Everyone! I’m Anna and I run a new beauty blog called EverydayBeautyFinds. I am an athlete with a passion for sharing my beauty finds, staying fit and testing out fashion trends. My blog features honest opinions on beauty products and subscription box services. Thank you to Melissa for allowing me to guest blog today! I am going to be discussing how to set fitness goals, the best way to stick to your goals, and share a little bit about my journey to fitness! So without further ado, here is my 3-step guide on how to stay fit!

Change your mindset.

A huge challenge for maintaining a healthy lifestyle has always been finding the time to work out. If you can adapt this mindset, right now, you will find making timeto work out a lot easier. Exercising everyday is a necessity. It is vital to your physical and mental well-being. As such, it is a priority, just like going to work, attending school or sleeping each night.

Set a Schedule

Schedule at least an hour of time in your day, each day you plan your exercise. It definitely helps to make this the same time everyday, because the more set into the routine of your schedule you are, the less likely you are to break it. Make a rule with yourself:if you absolutely MUST use that time for something that has come up, you will reschedule your workout for another time that SAME DAY. Just skipping one day can start a trend and break up all the good work you are working so hard to do. As far as when to schedule your workout, try to pick a time that you are least likely to have potential scheduling conflicts with (for example, mid-afternoon is a tough time slot, because meetings always seem to come up then.) For me, the best time is in the morning before work. I wake up an extra hour and half early so that I can exercise at the gym, take a shower, and go to work feeling like I’ve already accomplished a lot for the day. When I leave my job each day, I walk out with a clean slate, having already completed two major , necessary tasks. If you are someone who constantly finds yourself saying “I just don’t have the time today”, I cannot recommend working out early in the morning enough! As much as waking up early is a drag, exercising wakes you up quickly, and you’ll leave the gym with a smile, being glad you went.

Set specific goals

Setting goals for yourself forces you to keep moving forward. Goals give your hours spent sweating away in the gym purpose. Perhaps most importantly , when you finally achieve the fitness objective that you’ve been working so hard toward, you will feel accomplished and encouraged.  So set realistic goals and keep yourself to them. The key word here is realistic. If you are out of shape right now, don’t make your goal to run a 7 minute mile by tomorrow. Set a challenging , but attainable pace for yourself. For me, this means steadily adding more reps to my set for abs, increasing weights for lifting and decreasing my time for running. For you, that might mean changing 3 sessions of cardio a week, to 5 sessions a week, or improving the strength in your triceps until you can do the full set of 25 push-ups you’ve never quite been able to complete. Whatever your dream is: set it! just work towards it at a steady pace. You don’t need to be Rocky, you can be the little Engine, That Could. Remember: don’t be discouraged if you struggle along the way. The important thing is that you keep moving forward and keep trying your best. For me, that means knowing that it is okay if my timed mile isn’t any better than the day before, or if Im not able to lift what I had hoped to. We all have off days. You getting yourself to the gym and sticking to your schedule-that counts for a whole lot. So good luck at the gym later today, and thanks for reading! Going out? Get prepared.

Hey Ladies!

Going out tonight? I have the perfect preparation to get you ready, so your not spending so much time the day of, or an hour before you leave to figure out what makeup you are going to need. If there is a something that I know that I will be going to, I know about 5 days before exactly what I’m wearing.  Have you ever had those times, or maybe you still do where you know you are heading somewhere , a function or a party, and you are still changing your clothes thirty minutes before you leave , because you cant seem to find that perfect outfit, or dress. I’ve had so many of those in the past, so now I prepare myself before hand of finding the right ensemble to wear. Do you know how much time that saves you? Once you get the right dress, or outfit, go ahead and figure the shoes out. I have asked my kids or husband more times than once which shoes look better. I always want another persons point of view. We can always look in a full body mirror, but I always like an opinion. I always have the same makeup preparation like I do any other time. I do take it easy when I’m home,  or just going to the store which is a tinted moisturizer, mascara, and lip gloss. If I want to play up my look a little more, especially with a smoky eye, I always add in a great shadow, liner ( sometimes), and always have that out the night before. It always helps to have everything out, so your not scrambling around for the perfect shadow, or the array of lip colors you are uncertain you want to use. Try them out first, so you know which ones you like best. I usually hold out about 3 or 4 colors, and then pick the one I like once I have my outfit on. it often depends what kind of mood I am in. I’m sure there are some of you that have your favorite products that are a must on nights out. With all the amazing products out there, it is hard to choose some days. Preparation is the key to reduce time consumption and stress when it comes to getting ready. You always have to go out with a happy face right? makeup
