The Best Way To Keep Energy Levels Up All Day

Summer is finally here and that means late summer nights and lots of fun. One thing that can really make you crave your bed earlier is tiring out early. Energy Levels can fluctuate up and down if you are not taking care of yourself the way you should be. If you are eating lots of sugar or drinking way too many cocktails, that can really make your energy levels linger day to day. I have a few tips on how to keep those energy levels up throughout the BEST season of the year.

I can’t tell you how much hydration helps with energy levels. I can always tell when I need more water. I start to hit that late afternoon rock. I try to keep water with me all day and drink all day. I even add fruit to it so it doesn’t seem so boring. Hydration is key to any healthy lifestyle. We lose so much water just through movement alone. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be working out to replace water. The best thing I do is make my water each morning before walking out the door. If you are busy in the mornings, make it the night before. It will be nice and chilled for you when you wake up.

Healthy Breakfast Option

I am not going to sit here and tell you that I eat breakfast every morning. I usually do a 16 hour intermittent fast. This keeps my energy levels up like no other, but that doesn’t always work for everybody. I recommend eating a light breakfast such as a healthy juice, or smoothie loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. I find that the heavier meal you eat first thing in the morning wears your energy levels down. Everyone is different so choose wisely. Avocado toast is always a great choice.

I find that exercising in the morning really helps my energy levels. I truly love fitness and I feel it’s key when wanting to live healthier and happier. I feel exercise helps keep energy levels stable all day long. If you are a yoga crazy like me, that is a great start to any morning. If you are a runner, try to hit your running in the morning. I feel that exercising in the late afternoon or evening really doesn’t help keep your energy up. It makes me want to go to bed. I try to avoid any exercise late at night, especially if I have a summer fling to go to or any plans made with friends.

I am the first to admit, I LOVE my wine. I really do. I just have really cut back on my cocktails. I feel at times, depending on the wine itself, that many make me feel tired early. A few have me tossing and turning at night. I don’t like not getting a good amount of sleep. I go hard through the days and I love my nights up in the summer. If I have wine, I hydrate well in between and cut back on the amount of glasses I allow myself. I actually love it. I do splurge on my vacations. Alcohol can wreak havoc on your sleep and health. Keep it balanced. You will feel so much better.

Summer is about having fun. We are avid travelers, but I love spending summer nights listening to music, hanging with my friends and family and eating amazing summer cuisine. Take care of your health and you will have loads of energy to make many more great Summer Memories.

Energy juices give me more energy than I can imagine. I feel if it wasn’t for me drinking so many, I’d probably want to fall over mid day. One thing I love is going to the store, buying fresh produce , and throwing ingredients together to form tasty juices. I have the BEST drink that is tasty , as well as energy thriving. I’m not one that likes sour things a whole lot, and I’ve never been one to like lemonade, until I made this one. I wouldn’t exactly call it the traditional lemonade. It does however, help with your metabolism, energy , and electrolytes. I drink this after every workout I do. I instantly feel refreshed.

  • 8 ounces coconut water
  • 1/2 cup chopped mango ( organic)
  • juice of one lemon (organic)
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

Throw all of these into your blender, and you will fall in love. The cayenne pepper helps to boost the metabolism. We all love that right? The coconut water helps to replace any electrolytes lost through sweat and your workout. The mango and Papaya have the taste and the vitamin supply to give us our energy back. 5 ways to Banish Fatigue and Increase Your Energy

Energy can be hard to come by on some days. We have all had days where we feel a bit fatigue, and our energy levels are drained. I have had days where around 3 pm, I’m ready for a nap. When this was happening, I went to my doctor. I found that my Magnesium levels were low. I instantly started taking magnesium supplements, and my energy soared. Energy drain is not fun. It can be harder to concentrate, stress levels increase, and it makes our heart rate increase.

Here are 5 great ways of banishing your fatigue, and increasing your energy :

  1. Increase your Magnesium Intake for energy – Many of us do not realize that we are low on magnesium. Taking a supplement can make a world of difference in our energy levels. Magnesium is needed for 300 biochemical reactions in our body. When we have low magnesium levels, it can slow all the processes in our body down. If you feel you do not want to take a supplement, you can add magnesium filled foods to your diet, such as almonds, cashews, and fish such as halibut. It is very important to contact your doctor if you are feeling fatigue.

  2. Always eat a hearty breakfast- your breakfast should be healthy and filling in the morning. It will keep you fuller through out the day, and keep your energy levels up as the day goes on. It should include healthy choices as yogurt with fruit, egg whites with avocado, or a great green juice filled with plenty of vitamins and antioxidants. People that skip breakfast usually eat more through out the day, and have lower energy levels.

  3. Get the body moving- I CAN NOT stress this enough. Exercise changes you as a whole. It makes you healthier, more vibrant, less stressed, more energy, and the list goes on. Exercise keeps all of our organs detoxified, and working so much more better. It is not good to not add some sort of exercise to your daily regimen. It is a proven statistic that people who exercise have less stressful lives.

  4. Start using Stress relievers- I am a huge advocate of meditation. I always hit up a meditation class, and find 30 minutes every day to gather my thoughts, and find a place of peace and calm. Stress and being over worked can cause exhaustion like no other. Stress results in anxiety and anxiety can use up all of our energy with in minutes. Its very important to find stress relievers to help on a daily basis. I love hot yoga and meditation so much. I love listening to calming music while I blog. I’m huge on meditation podcasts also. If you can’t find a good meditation class, a podcast is always great.

  5. Limit your alcohol intake- Alcohol can wreak havoc on your energy levels like no other. Its ok to have your occasional glass of red wine at dinner time. The biggest problem is drinking more than enough. Your system breaks down over a period of time, and will cause excessive fatigue. Getting up in the morning after over drinking will get harder and harder. Our liver’s can only handle so much. How do you usually feel the next day after drinking too much in one night? It gets worse and worse. Limit your glasses to 1-2 a week. You liver will appreciate it.

The fab 5 ways of cutting sugar out of your life

Sugar is the culprit of many illnesses , weight gain , ect. I could go on and on for hours of why sugar is a huge problem in everyone’s diet, and the many problems you can face with lots of sugar intake. I think sugar is the reason behind many cancers. One of the best things you can do is make decisions to cut sugar out of your life. Divorce it! It’s not good for your health, and living optimally.  I know many of you have a great love for sugar, as it’s what makes all your great desserts and many of your favorite foods so good to you. It’s not easy to break away from it, as it’s highly addictive. I know for many you can’t just turn off loving sugar, it’s a process , just like anything else. I have 5 great ways of breaking the sugar habit. It could take for some of you weeks, and others months, but it slowly will happen.

It’s the best decision you can make for your body, and your health. I’m not saying you can’t indulge in some of your favorite goodies, but it’s about balance and trying to replace some of those Sugary treats for healthier ones.

Try to get atleast 7-8 hours of sleep a night. It’s a proven fact that when we are low on sleep, we crave more sugar in our diets due to feeling tired. We feel a quick fix will help the problem. That is the farthest thing from the truth. We will end up crashing and feeling worse than before.

-keep the sugar out of the house. Do not even go down the middle ” sugar ” aisle. You will be tempted to buy all the packaged treats , and it’s worse when your hungry. Come up with treats that are made with real fruits. Atleast 90 percent of the ” healthy ” packed foods are not healthy.

-get atleast 30 minutes of exercise in a day. Exercising gets our metabolism boosting , and our want for Sugar goes down. Exercising keeps our energy up .

-try to incorporate protein and healthy fat at each meal. This keeps blood sugar levels from dropping. Make sure the fats are healthy such as olive oil or a good avocado with your salad.

–take a multi vitamin every day. This really keeps our energy up , and prevents us from crashing later , craving sugar snacks . Sugar is a killer in so many ways. If you are a coffee drinker , craving those creamers full of sugar, try to opt for almond milk with a bit of cinnamon. It truly makes a difference in the way you feel , by cutting out all the junk. Your body will thank you now and later in life.
