A Good Salad always starts with some Great Organic Greens. I prefer Mixed Greens for this salad. I love the Mixture of the Greens and the Multi of Antioxidants that it gives you. Try to stick with Organic as it’s much healthier. The Antioxidants are loaded up in this small summer salad.
Throw your Greens into a bowl and add in all the other ingredients. Try to dice up the pear before hand so that it saves you time. I always try to stick to Organic ingredients. If you want to add more cheese, and prefer a block then dice up the feta cheese before hand also. I like to take a small baggie and place the oil and Dill weed and Parsley in that and shake it. It really gives the salad a really good mixture. This salad feeds two people. If you want to serve more, double the ingredients . The salad is great paired with a good Pinot Grigio.
I am a huge avocado lover. Matter of fact, my family jokes with me on how many avocados I eat in a day. One of my favorite breakfast choices is my avocado toast. It is healthy and it is great fuel for any morning workout. It provides you with great , healthy fats and avocados are loaded with amazing monounsaturated fatty acids. This amazing fruit provides us with 20 vitamins and minerals. Yes! We are getting our vitamin intake. Here is my take on amazing avocado toast.
I use Ezekiel bread which is made of sprouted whole grains, and seeds. It’s not one of those breads you find in the stores that is loaded with fillers, and flour. It provides you with more protein, fiber, and vitamins and minerals. It contains no phytic acid, and is not concentrated with large amount of gluten. I go ahead and put that in the toaster. While my bread is toasting, I take a small avocado ( organic preferable) and slice and cut. I then mash the avocado and mix a bit of pepper, and onion powder to it. Make sure you take it easy on the onion powder. I don’t use much at all. Once that is mixed up and mashed really well, I spread on my toast. I then add a great mixed red pepper flake spice to the top of it, and add a bit more black pepper. I do add some great herbs to it once in a while, and then I eat with either a boiled egg, or a fried egg made only with coconut oil. It is so yummy. If you are looking for a great, quick breakfast option, this avocado toast is not only delicious, but so super healthy for your body. I cant begin to tell you what Whole foods will do for your health. Do you strive to have more energy? Is your current way of eating making you moody? Sluggish? Whole Foods are foods that haven’t been refined in any way, and have no additives, artificial sweeteners, or toxic ingredients in them. They are as close to being just the way they were meant to be.. REAL! The important part of adding these amazing foods to your diet is that you will have MORE energy, you will be able to maintain a healthy weight, and it really helps reduce diseases, infections and sickness like the common cold. These foods feed our organs and, blood, skin, and immune system the vitamins and minerals that it needs. It helps to promote a healthy and vibrant way of living.
These foods are easy on digestion, which is great for gut health. You wont feel the sluggishness or bloat ness that some bad foods give you. I call it the “Rainbow Diet”. Whole foods are colorful and packed with antioxidants that will give our bodies lasting energy and we will even see a difference in our skin. Our skin will be more supple, a nd radiant due to all the amazing benefits of these foods. My rule of thumb.. Only shop in the outsides of the grocery store, unless you are at a wholefoods market. The inner aisles are pretty much a waste of time. Those items are loaded with preservatives, and horrible toxic overload. They are no-good. Whole foods will keep you away from the free radicals also. I love to bake, and I love baking healthier options even more, because we all probably have a bit of a sweet tooth, and love healthy delicious treats. I enjoyed making this recipe that I found fromTaste of home, which is one of my favorite sites, and I added a bit of fun to this recipe by using heart shape cookie cutters to add a bit of Valentine fun!
This recipe will make 2 loaves , with 12 slices each.
– 2 cups gluten free all purpose flour
-1 teaspoon baking soda
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-2 cups mashed riped bananas
-1 cup sugar
-1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
-1/3 cup canola oil
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-1/2 cup chopped walnuts
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk eggs, bananas, sugar, applesauce , oil, and vanilla. Stir this into the dry ingredients. Transfer to two 8 in by 4 in loaf pans, coated with baking spray, sprinkle with walnuts , and bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes. Let cool for 10 min. Enjoy!
