Power breakfast.. Avocado and egg open faced sandwich

Are you looking for a great power breakfast filled with lots of vegetables and protein? This recipe is one of my favorites for a lot of reasons. It is full of protein , fiber, and loaded with antioxidants. It’s amazingly delicious at bat. If you are one that wants to mix it up a bit, you should try this recipe.

1 avocado

1 organic ( cage free egg)

1 piece Ezekiel bread

1/2 tomato

1/3 cup spinach

1 slice veggie cheese .

Toast your bread, and cook your egg the way you like it. I like mine made with a tad bit of olive oil, and pepper. Once toast is done, place the veggie cheese slice on top, and then place your egg on top. Load up the rest with the avocado, sliced tomato and spinach. You may like your spinach made with a bit of olive oil also, and that’s ok. Top it off, and voila! It’s the perfect power breakfast.

Top foods for glowing skin

Winter is a real pain when it comes to keeping your skin glowing. The dryness in the air and lack of moisture can wreak havoc on everything from your skin, to your hair and more. There are great ways to always keep your skin glowing in this frigid air, but more importantly, what we put in our bodies helps a great deal in keeping our skin nice and supple. My top foods for keeping winter glowing skin:

*walnuts- this amazing nut is loaded with antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids. It in return, stimulates collagen in our skin, helping us maintain that glow throughout the season. Adding these nuts to salads, muffins, and even your morning oatmeal, is a great way of reaping the benefits.

*dark chocolate- I’m not saying to go out and buy a snicker bar. That’s the type of chocolate to stay away from, as it’s loaded up with sugar and preservatives. Try picking a bar up from your natural food market that has atleast 70 percent cacao . This reduces moisture , keeps skin hydrated, and improves your skins overall texture.

*cherries- cherries slows down the aging process all together, and they are full of antioxidants. Adding these to your smoothies, or even topping your oatmeal is great.

*tomatoes-tomatoes are full of lycopene, which helps in keeping acne at bay. They help lower the hormone that causes acne. It’s easy to add tomatoes to anything, from dishes to salads.

* green tea- this is a wonder drink. Been around for centuries, drinking 3-5 glasses a day lower levels of DHT. It’s loaded up with antioxidants and helps keep the skin subtle, and glowing.

Benefits of an Alkaline Diet

Hi ladies!

We all know that keeping our bodies healthy, keeps our immune system happy. Having a good balnaced PH in our blood, keeps us away from disease, and illness, and you can keep that immune system strong by following a strong Alkaline Diet. Alkaline rich foods give your body the important minerals that it needs to keep you functioning at your highest level. Balance is the most important key when trying to adjust to this type of lifestyle. The Alkaline Diet is not a fad, its a way of life, and Im the first to admit, that since I switched over 6 monthes ago, I have never felt better.

The PH in our blood is how acidic or alkaline it is, and our bodies PH needs to stay more alkaline to keep our immune system healthy and happy. That is what prevents us from getting sick or getting a virus right? it all comes down to our bodies PH. The great alkaline foods include:

  • wholesome fruits
  • vegetables
  • herbs
  • nuts
  • herbal teas
  • wheatgrass
  • spirulina

This is just the name of a few. There is a whole array of alkaline forming foods out there, and it truly is important to eat atleast 60-80% alkaline, and 20-40% acid, ( if you truly need acid forming foods). I know we all are in situations where we are at a gathering , or function, and those are the foods served.

Acid Forming foods are the foods including, grains, beans, meats, dairy, fast-food, pesticide ridden foods, processed foods that have horrible ingredients added to them ( which these foods include all the middle aisles in the grocery store. Acid forming foods are constantly compromising our immune systems, which in turn makes us more suseptible to illness and disease. Its best to keep these foods to a minimum because believe me they are not doing our bodies any justice at all.

You always want to try to keep your body at a slightly alkaline PH of 7.3.This is very important, and can be done with adding more fresh fruits and vegetables to your daily diet .

Great benefits of the alkaline diet are :

  • Better moods, and More calmness
  • less anxiety
  • higher energy levels
  • fat loss ( around the midsection)
  • better focus and concentration
  • glowing skin
  • less sickness
  • anti-aging. ( you defintely feel at the top of your game) Many well known actresses follow this diet including Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Aniston, and Gwenyth Paltrow to name a few. I started using the The Super Elixir, about 3 monthes ago, and Im not kidding when I say this, It’s the best super powder on the market. Just two teaspoons daily, and I cant tell you the way i feel since using this amazing product. Its purely alkalizing, and has 42 amazing ingredients and superfoods included, which help every single organ in your body. If you are curious on how to adjust to a more alkalizing diet, here are some tips:

  • Try some deep breathing exercises daily

  • Start your morning off with some hot lemon water with added organic lemon juice.( this is not only liver cleansing, but also highly alkalizing.
  • Cut down on the processed foods. ( They are NOT good for you). This is deli meats, packaged chicken, bacon, processed snacks, ect.
  • Exercise daily
  • Try finding pure fresh fruit and vegeatble dishes, and smoothies, and slowly adjust to them daily. Start out with just having one juice a day, and then increase it daily.

I sarted using The Super Elixir about 3 monthes ago, and I’m not kidding when I say this, It’s the Best super powder on the market.

Ways to stay motivated with your fitness

Hi ladies!

We all know how crazy our schedules can be, trying to fit in everything we want to do or have to do, and it’s very easy to fall off track, or get sidetracked on our fitness routines. There are some great ways to stay motivated and keep going everyday to stay in shape and get moving.

– always try to keep a journal. If you are eating well, and feeling energized and great, you aren’t going to want to fall off the wagon. Looking in your journal, and seeing how you gave been eating and what you have been eating will keep you on the right track.

– try to avoid eating out at places that do not offer healthy entrees. One thing that happens to a lot of people, is they go out to lunch or dinner more often than not, and tend to eat fatty meals loaded with sodium. Believe me when I say this.. 90 percent of the salads offered, are not healthy!  Try eating regular natural foods from home.

– mark out your day with one hour of you time. Take that one hour and go workout. Take a class, go for a run, or go take a yoga class. You are moving and that’s all you need.

– get a goal of what you want to achieve. Whether it’s a picture or something else, keep it close and work your butt off to get there. You can do it!!

Mid Day Snack Importance!

Hi beauties!

We all know how important it is to get our workouts in every day. I try to pre plan my meals so that once I’m done working out, I don’t need to spend precious time preparing food.

Eating mid day snacks are super important, because it keeps your blood sugar stabilized, and keeps energy levels high. I eat two or three small snacks a day. I never seem low on energy! I also drink tons of water. And I NEVER choose preservative filled snacks from the grocery store….

I always keep almonds, yogurt, and fresh fruit on hand. Also, I try to prepare healthy meals if my kids have activities, because we’ll be running around all day! If we are all home for dinner, my husband and I usually prepare a super healthy meal full of veggies.

Remember ladies: Keep that energy up, and stock up on healthy snacks.
