We live in a society where worth can be determined by age. As I’m writing this , I am 42 , moving toward 43. I have to admit, there are days when I get up , look at my growing kids, and it has to sink in that I’m in my 40’s. wow, it was like yesterday that I was pushing strollers and setting up play dates. As much as I would love just one of those days back, I’m embracing my age and where I’m at in my life. With society plastering all kinds of photoshopped pictures and social media pressing hard on the crazy anti aging products, it’s always easy to blame society on how this world relies so much on beauty, youth and worth. I have read about the 80 year old body builder , and the 100 year old marathon runner. They are inspiring and living. Living in my terms is what keeps us young and thriving. Yes, we may not be in our 20’s, but even so what do you really know about life in your twenties? Living each day to the fullest is what it’s all about. Rocking your age like no other. I love my 40’s,and where im at in life. Yes there are days that I wish I had my 20 year old body back, but as hard as I work out, I’m actually loving my body now . I can still do many things that I did in my 20’s, and I wake up every day thankful that it’s still working. You get what you put in. If you aren’t happy with something, FIX IT. CHANGE IT. You live one life. Get out and try new things. I always try to live outside my comfort zone. That’s just my personality. It has opened so many doors for me in so many ways. I blog and campaign for a living, and yes I love it, and im reminded every day that when I go for a campaign, im at times, competing with 20 something bloggers. Honestly, I’ve been chosen over them due to my wisdom and training in that aspect , and the fact that i have more experience with certain things. Believe me, age is what you make of it. You can look, feel, dress, eat, live any way you like, and it’s up to you how you choose to feel everyday you jump out of bed and choose to live your day. Get up and rock the skin your in!

I’ve been wanting to do a post for a while now on my recent trip to New York, but wanted to make sure that I had everything in it that I wanted you to know. If you are planning a trip to NYC, then I am so glad you are reading this. This was probably one of the Best trips I’ve taken recently , just for the simple fact I was with my kids. We had an ultimate blast and can’t wait to get back.

Even though I have been before, it seems each time you go back to the same destination , there is always something new to see , or just new things to do. We took in many sights, museums, ate amazing food, went to great Broadway shows , and I wish I could fit all my amazing photos in to this one post. I just wanted to give you some insight of some great things to do and see if you have a chance to visit.

I’m going to start with food. Who doesn’t love taking in the great food NYC has to offer. Everywhere you turn, there is food, and it’s good food. We ate at so many amazing places, by I just can’t fit them all in to my post. I have to start out with the amazing STK Steakhouse.  If you ever have a chance to go, you need to. It’s got a great vibrant atmosphere , and the food is divine. It’s a great place to take the family. Rolling into little Italy, we couldn’t make our minds up on where we wanted to eat. Every little place looks adorable. After about 30 minutes, we decided on Cafe Napoli. I’m so glad we did! The wait staff was remarkable, and did I mention they have the best Tortellini Romano? Of course now I’m going to move on to where we stayed. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria. The hotel was just fabulous, and the service was remarkable. The rooms are spacious, and they have the best restaurants inside , including the Bull and Bear Prime Steakhouse. The breakfast there is amazing . My daughter and I even had afternoon tea at Lachine. They are so accommodating. I had to venture over to TriBeCa one day to take in some shopping and sights. I have to race about the TriBeCa spa of tranquility. This spa was voted one of the best spas around the globe, and I can see why. It was adorable. The staff was wonderful, and their services were amazing. The European facial  and their signature massage was the ultimate. TriBeCa is lovely as well. I can’t cover everything we seen, because we did ALOT! Central Park is always a gorgeous place to visit or take a walk. The day we visited, you couldn’t of asked for a more beautiful scenery. It’s always wonderful to visit this an amazing city, and have the ultimate fun. If you ever have a small weekend or a vacation coming up, NYC is a great get away.

Hi ladies!

I’m sure all of you are loving the great handbags out this fall. The colors are amazing, and I’m loving Kate Spades Gorgeous grey handbags. It’s always fun to buy a great handbag, but filling it with the essential everyday belongings is just as important. We never know when we are going to need something on the spur of the moment.

Handbag essentials doesn’t stop at your wallet and a tube of your favorite lipstick. I have a list of belongings that I keep on hand for those last minute needs. It’s amazing when you have kids , how much you need crazy little things. I always keep a pack of my favorite gum, and mints in my handbag. Of course your going to need them after lunch before talking to people. I keep my favorite pair of sunglasses on hand. I wear sunglasses always. It keeps you from squinting, and is overall healthier for your eyes. Chronic squinting causes wrinkles, which we want to keep at bay for as long as we can.  Have you ever been out somewhere, and your child drops something on their shirt, and your headed somewhere? Well that’s why I keep my tide pen in there. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to pull that out for use. They are wonderful , and literally erases every little spot. I have no idea what I’d do if they never invented those.

One item that I always keep in my handbag is my calender book. I’m such a visual person, and I need to see on paper what I have going on. I like to look at the head of each month , and it helps me schedule appts, and such . You can see your open days versus your crazy days.

The last item that I’m addicted to is my Burts Bees lip balm. I have no idea why I love it so much, but I keep my lip balm in there and use it constantly. My lips never get chapped, and I love that it’s all natural.

Well those are my essentials. What is in your handbag?

Hi ladies !

Age is such a fear, isn’t it? I hear people all the time , in their 40’s and 50’s, saying  things like “Back in my day, or “when I was young, talking as if they are as old as the hills. In retrospect, aging has simply changed. I feel people are living longer, working longer, and just aging differently. We will always age in numbers,  but I feel in the way we age is up to us, and no matter how old you may feel , there are some great ways to embrace the most amazing life, after the age of 40.

We are certainly using  the term “midlife ” after the 40th birthday hits, but it can be the Best time out of your whole life. This for many of people , including myself, are watching your kids growing rapidly into independent adults, and looking at the fact, that sooner or later, you will NOT be able to control every aspect of their life. Is that fearful? Well for me personally, it is, at times, simply because I know, no other way. That’s the worst part, but the BEST part is watching them growing, into confident strong minds, and knowing in your heart, that raising them with morals and values will simply make them amazing adults who will find their path, and be responsible. That’s part of the”negativity ” that happens as our kids grow older. We simply see ourselves getting older, but its a GOOD  thing ,I promise. Midlife is not the time of loss. Its actually the time of growth, and discovery. It seems at my age, I’m doing more creative transformations then I ever have, then I did when I was raising my family. I just have more “me” time now, and I’m loving  it.

WHO ARE YOU ?

This is a time to really figure yourself out, and what you are wanting in life. Is there something you have always wanted to try, or to learn? What is your purpose? This is the time to find that out. You never want to stop believing you are capable of something just because of your birth date. Its never too late to evolve. I have always been the type of person to say, If it makes you feel good, Do it. Stop caring what people think. They don’t matter anyway right? Are you really living your life for them, or for yourself? The way I see it, if they have something to judge, its because of their own insecurities. Feeling young has so much with aging. You will have more joy in doing the things that you want to do, and your attitude will be more positive. I see so many people hiding behind a persona because they have no personality, or characteristics, because they care SO much about what people say about them. Its really a pathetic way to live. BE YOURSELF!! Youth and living has so much to do with the positive mindset. Look at everything in front of you ,and all the opportunities and possibilities, and start living,

Are you Spiritual? pexels-photo-24746 (1)

I cant tell you how I feel after walking out of church on Sundays. It’s honestly one of the BEST feelings in the world, because I leave there feeling so relaxed, and you feel like you just once again made a strong connection to your beliefs. Its best to find something spiritual, that makes you believe in something so strong. This could be going to church, or even daily meditations, or self help books. Embrace your life in a spiritual aspect. It makes everything that much more amazing.

What more do you need in your life to complete you?

I have to say I have never wanted any thing more in life, because at this moment, I have it all. I’m so beyond happy , and complete, and I think it’s because I look at what I have, and its just blessed. If you are one that thinks maybe if they had a better wardrobe, or more friends, or anything of that matter, then maybe  you really need to look at what life is truly about. Its not material. Material things are bought, but not made. Families, Health, happiness, laughter, joy are made. Those are the things that truly bring happiness. Always keep yourself honored, and always believe your instincts. You are the one that knows yourself, and you should honor that in every way. That means doing the things in life that bring you joy, and make you laugh. Laughter is the BEST medicine. Who doesn’t feel at their happiest when they are having a good time. 40 is the beginning , and if you are feeling this way at 30, then 30 is the beginning. Youth has no number.
