Valentines Day Favorites

Happy Monday!

Valentines Day is just around the corner, and I want to share some of my favorite Valentines Favorites with you. Many people can’t seem to get into Valentines Day, but for some reason I love it. It may be because it’s around my birthday. I love making cute cake pops or some cute cupcakes, and I love giving my friends some great wine and chocolates. I love to gift give. It’s my favorite. I absolutely love chocolates and wine together. There are many great ways to spice up your husbands or boyfriends day. The smallest things go so far and mean the most. Leaving a cute note with some of their favorite chocolates in their car, or just making them up a small gift basket of some of their favorite things is something nice to do. It’s also a cute idea to set up a time to hit a wine bar before sitting down to a nice dinner. For the little ones, they love anything and everything. My son is way to big to get those valentines gifts, so I usually get him one of his favorite gift cards or a card with cash. My daughter still loves the girly things, so I usually buy her some personalized chocolates , and take her for a pedicure , or even buying those over sized cards are always fun. There are many ways to let your significant other and family know how much you mean, and it doesn’t even have to cost a thing. Taking your family member to lunch, or making them a nice dinner is always a great gesture. As chaotic as the days seem to get with sports, and other things, it can be hard to make the time through the week to get to dinner or even make dinner sometimes. Writing a nice note or doing something nice for someone will go far.

Being Resiliant … The ultimate booster

What does being Resilant really mean?

I’m sure you have all had challenging times in your life , whether it had to do with a job, a family member, losing a loved one, or dealing with what I call ” petty” bullshit. The people that try really hard to bring you down to their level in some sort of screwed up way. It happens everyday , everywhere. I see it, and hear it on a daily basis, and in some sort of way, it’s pretty sad. There are a lot of sad people dealing with their own issues , and in the scheme of things, they try really hard to make themselves feel better , by bringing every person around them down. That’s where being resilient comes in. Being challenged and dealing with things is great for you. It brings out the fighter in you and makes you stronger , and capable of dealing with anything that comes your way. I think it builds confidence in younger kids, and if life was so easy everyday not having to deal with those kind of people, then you wouldn’t know how to deal with challenges that are thrown your way. I’m sure you all know that when people are ” mean ” , it’s not about you.. It’s all about the issues they have with themselves or with their life. Having confidence is the most important aspect in the younger years. If you have enough confidence, then what anyone says about you or anything that has to do with you, you learn to laugh at it. Well that’s atleast what I do anyway. You could be the nicest , sweetest, pushover kid in the whole world, and there would STILL be someone out there saying mean things. You have to feel sorry for those people. They need to find their own happiness, and until they do, they will always talk about someone. I love the saying, Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle, because the diamond that shines the brightest , doesn’t break. That’s the absolute truth. I teach both of my kids to be resilient, and I have to say they are the two most confident kids I know. Stay bright, stay away from the negativity and surround yourself with people that bring out the sparkle in you. They are the only ones that count.

10 Things That Make Me Feel BeYOUtiful

Happy hump day, ladies!

It’s officially springtime, and with that comes many things: chirping birds, blooms on the trees, green grass, and more sunny skies… Those are some things that make me happy, but what makes you feel beautiful? Here is a quick list of 10 things that make me feel beautiful!

1. Amazing perfume. My favorite is, and always will be, Burberry Weekend. The smell will always remind me of a special trip I took with my son when he was quite young. I started wearing it on that trip, and never stopped!

2. My husband. He always makes me feel as if I’m the only woman in the world. Always has… since I was 16.

3. My kids. They inspire me everyday and make me feel like the best mom in the world. Always letting me know how much they appreciate what I do for them!

4. Painting. I’ve loved painting ever since I was small, and there is nothing more fun then making beautiful art. So peaceful and relaxing!

5. My workouts. Who doesn’t feel great after working out? It’s embedded in my daily life. Feeling at my healthiest!

6. White roses. I’ve loved white roses ever since I can remember. I love white!!

7. My parents. They’re love to remind me how great of a mom I am. My parents always puts things in perspective for me.

8. Feeling like a kid when I’m with my daughter. She reminds me everyday to have fun, and her wittiness and spirit make me laugh!

9. Keeping my teeth white. I know this sounds funny, but I have a small obsession with my teeth…

10. Just knowing I’m a mom. Best gift in the world. I am beyond blessed!

I think it’s important to cherish things that make you feel beautiful. So tell me: What’s on your top 10 list?
