Looking youthful and having a healthy glow doesn’t just come in topical lotions and good moisturizers. These days , maintaining good health and maintaining a youthful and healthy glow comes in drinks and supplements. The normal used to be that drinking your recommended daily amount of H2O will keep your skin glowing and healthy. As that fact is still true, you can now take supplements that are amazing for your skin, and can include all your greens, and an added probiotic all in one. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that it’s some magic potion, but what I will tell you is that since taking these supplements, I have seen a huge difference in my skin, and I have more energy through out the day. 

These below are what I take all the time. I do mix up a few, using my cleanse every other month. It’s good to add in a probiotic daily as it keeps your digestive system working properly and adding in good bacteria .

This powder has antioxidants, vitamins , minerals, Chinese herbs, probiotic, and so much more. I usually add it to water, but some people may think it’s too bitter. It can take some time to get used to, but believe me, once you do, you are going to see and feel such a difference. The last and most amazing non powder supplements in my opinion are by Hum nutrition. I take their daily cleanse atleast every two months. These are honestly amazing products , and they are all part of my daily regimen. I’ve seen huge differences in my whole body.

I’m sure you all have heard the word Quinoa,  in the land of health. Any more, you see it in health magazines, books, podcasts, and so forth, that’s because of the amazing health benefits this super grain has. Quinoa is similar to buckwheat, but is not a member of the true grass family. This super grain resembles amaranth. Quinoa originated in the region of Peru, and this grain is full of amazing nutrients such as Potassium, Iron, Zinc, Folate, and Magnesium, which we all know are amazing vitamins we need to keep our bodies strong and healthy. There are so many ways to incorporate Quinoa into your daily diet. I love adding to fresh grilled vegetables, or adding to my fish . One cup of Quinoa contains a whopping 5 grams of fiber, and 8 grams of protein. Its very low in calories, at only having 22 calories and 4 grams of fat in one cup. Just adding one cup to your dinner with vegetables, gives you a sufficient amount of vitamins. Quinoa is loaded up with iron, which many people are deficient in. Low iron can bring on fatigue, and you may not even know you have low iron. The sufficient amount of iron can help you maintain healthy blood cells.

Quinoa is full of magnesium, which relaxes blood vessels, helps prevent diabetes, and helps with keeping bones healthy and thriving. It is filled with antioxidants , which helps your body with aging well, and helps you live longer. Because Quinoa is so low in calories, it helps keep the weight off, and can prevent you from gaining weight if it is eaten properly. This should be added to your diet to give you more antioxidants. If you are one that likes to eat pasta and grains, try to replace your white flour pasta, which probably isn’t that healthy for you, with some quinoa. Hi ladies! Turmeric is all over in the health world, due to its amazing health benefits, and as some people would think that turmeric could be a bit bitter, or ” bland”, there are great ways of adding it to your daily life in the form of a latte! Yes .. The morning drink that some of you crave every morning.. You can now add that wonderful super spice into a latte. This is a wonderful recipe that I found off of the amazing blog Pamela salzman, and it’s amazingly delicious!! If you are a latte drinker, this is a perfect way of reaping the benefits.

 1/2 tsp. Ground turmeric

1/2 tsp pure maple syrup

Pinch of cayenne

1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled, and cut into chunks or 1/4 tsp. Ground ginger

8 0z. Warm unsweetened almond milk

Other possible add ins: pinch of ground cinnamon, drop of pure vanilla extract, spoon of refined coconut oil.

Place turmeric , maple syrup, cayenne, ginger in a mug. Pour in warm almond milk. Stir and allow to steep for a minute. Enjoy!

I want to share with you all some Great foods to add to your diet daily, to make you feel better, give you more energy, and bring your body to a more alkaline state. Of course it’s good to eat your fresh fruits and vegetables every day, but adding in super foods every day just gives your body more sufficient protection that it needs. Here are my top 5 superfoods that I eat everyday. 

-Turmeric- this powder is a wonder superfood. It reduces inflammation, and is loaded with powerful antioxidants tha help fight cancer. It helps promote a healthy heart. A great way to use this , is sprinkle some in your dishes, or add some to your smoothies. 

– Spirulina- this power food is loaded with vitamin A, K, B12, and iron. Helps promote a healthy heart, and is anti – inflammatory. This is great as a powder, and thrown in green juices, or even mixing with water.  

 -avocado- I eat one everyday. This is a great healthy fat, loaded with fiber, vitamin e, c, copper , and folate. Helps with reducing inflammation, and also helps with weight management. Add this to your salads. 

-cacao- do you like chocolate? Well you can have the taste , without all the sugars, and fillers. This is a superfood. It’s unprocessed , and loaded with antioxidants. It’s full of magnesium, and potassium along with lots others. This is great mixed with oatmeal, or added to your smoothie. Yummy! 

– apple cider vinegar- I add this to my water daily,because of its health benefits. It contains enzymes, potassium, and helps your body maintain a good ph balance. 

Adding these daily will increase your overall optimum health.

 Did you all know that Basil is considered one of the best superfoods you can eat . The health benefits of this food solely out weighs many other superfoods because of the flavonoids in it that reacts high at the cellular level. This herb , also known as St. Joseph’s Wort, is a member of the mint family. It has become such a popular food, being included in many health juices, and also being a popular topping in many recipes. Basil has been shown to stop bacterial growth, and Shown to inhibit many types of pathogenic bacteria.

Basil has many anti -inflammatory effects, and with Basil having so much Vitamin A, it qualifies as being a huge factor in helping with Cardiovascular health. Free radical damage is the big culprit in many health conditions, including arthritis and asthma, and the beta-carotene found in basil helps lessen the progression of many ailments, and helps with further damage. 

Basil also has magnesium in it, which helps the blood vessels and muscles to relax , which in turn helps stress levels. If you have ever smelled Basil, it is highly fragrant, and has green pointy leaves. Basil is such a popular herb used in the Italian family of foods, and are 60 different varieties of basil. Adding this herb to your recipes gives so many health benefits, plus adding amazing taste to your food. Always try to buy fresh basil , over the dried bottle herb. You will see a huge difference in the taste. Fresh basil always has a better , more fresh taste. One of my favorite ways to eat basil is adding it to my green juices, and adding it to any pizzas we make at home. You can’t go wrong adding this green superfoods to your daily diet.
