Hey! It’s almost Valentines Day, and I know many of you are wondering what you can do with your loved one that will be fun but won’t break your bank account. Valentines Day is about spending quality time with your significant other and doesn’t have to be luxurious or lavish. I’m not saying that some of you haven’t bought your loved one something super nice or expensive. If you did, Great! Everyone deserves something nice every now and then. If you are looking to do something romantic or fun, then I have some great ideas for you that aren’t going to cost you a fortune.

If your significant other is more of a simple person, a great night in with a great Netflix movie and a good bottle of wine would be divine to anyone of that nature. Everyone loves a chill night. One thing that my husband and I Love to do is get Couples Massages. You can find so many great places to offer discounts during the Valentines month. There are many that offer two for one. It is a great way to have some relaxation time if you and your love have been really busy lately. This is the perfect date in my eyes.

Are you a busy mom or dad and feel like you never have any time away with your love? Try to plan in advance and get a sitter for the night. Log on and find some great hotels in your area that are offering a discount for Valentines day. I see these all the time. It would give you two love birds some good quality time to yourselves. Having some relaxation time for the night is perfect for Valentines Day.

Are you both Yoga crazy or your significant other loves it? Try to find a great Yoga class to do together. This is a great way to connect into doing something together and is healthy. If you are one that doesn’t love Yoga , but your love does, You can sacrifice an hour right? You may just find out how much you love something .

Do you Love to Laugh? Find a Great Comedy Show playing and take your Valentine. Comedy shows are great to watch and honestly they are uplifting. I find that having a good, hard laugh every now and then never hurts.

Valentines day is what you make of it. You may be on that doesn’t take it too serious, or really doesn’t consider it to be a holiday. My Top Three favorite Organic Wines


Wine has always been known as a luxury drink, embraced with the delicious taste of fermented grapes, paired with an amazing meal. These days , it more than just luxury, it’s healthy. 

With fermentation, due to the chemical imbalance, most reds are made without the addition of sugar, but it doesn’t mean that all wines are the best wines. Some wines are made cheaply, and can have some sugar added for a sweeter taste. If you are choosing to buy a bottle of wine under $10, it may not be the best. 

I’m in multiple wine clubs that select the top wines from California, and they all are amazing. Most bottles retail for $22-$35 , and you can tell. The taste of a good bottle of wine is rich and delicious with no bitterness. I’ve had years of trying, tasting, and learning of wines, and I can tell when a wine is made cheaply. I do have bottles that are made organic, and I absolutely love them. You can drink a bottle , and not get a headache, and the taste stays wonderful. Below are my three favorite organic wines.

Chateau Maris- this wine is absolutely delicious. It is made organic, and has a lemon , honeysuckle taste. This is perfect for a summer night. 

Cooper mountain- this wine is rich and sultry in taste and organic. It has a great pairing with a steak and salad . There is absolutely no bitterness to this one. 

Quivira- great organic wine that is perfect for the summer, and has a bit of cranberry taste to it. This is great paired with a good salad.

The olive oil is loaded with healthy fats, as well as the fish having great omega 3’s. This diet is great for memory also.

Did you know that there is foods known as the “brainy foods”? Yes.. the reason behine it is because these foods are loaded up with a variety of antioxidants that help with better brain function through out the day, and helps the increase of blood flow to the brain. These foods are the amazing blueberries( a family favorite), raspberries, black berries, and beets.

DRINK THAT WINE

I’m not going to lie. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am the ultimate wine lover. I am currently taking a class on wine & pairings, have been offered jobs at wine bars, and own a wine cellar. I LOVE WINE! Not only that, but it has been in the news to be one of the best drinks for weight loss( yes a glass before bed), and is full of resveratrol. Resveratrol is the amazing mineral found in red grapes, and is known to activate the age-slowing Sirt1gene. It is known to rejuvenate brain function, and help with cognitive function.A great way of getting it into your diet if you are not a wine drinker, is to take 200 mg a day of the supplement.

TAKE YOUR GINKGO

Ginkgo has been known to help with brain function and cognitive function. It has been shown to alleviate signs in patients with dementia. This can also be taken as a daily supplement.

As we get older, it s imperative that we keep our brains sharp. We need to be using them everyday to our full advantage. Doing crossword puzzles, reading, and other hobbies have been shown to slow down the aging brain.

Like wine? Here are the perfect food pairings for your favorites.


Hi ladies! 

It’s that time of year when the cocktails are swirling, and if you are wine drinker, then I have the perfect food pairings for your favorites. It’s best to associate the best foods with your wine, so you get the most flavor out of it. I have done my homework over many years, and I will tell you that the food does make a huge difference. 

Are you a Cabernet Sauvignon fan? To get the best flavor out of your wine, it’s best to pair a good cab with a good red meat , such as a good hearty steak. The flavor of both instantly is compatible. Pinot noir which is a little lighter than a cab, is paired great with earthy dishes , such as a margarita pizza, one with lots of earthy vegetables such as tomatoes, or mushrooms. Sauvignon Blanc, which is a bit more tart , would pair well with great tarts or dressings. Dressings with butter bases. 

If you are a champagne fan, then anything salty really brings the most out of your bubbly. Foods such as Chinese pairings, or even salt based flour foods, work well with champagne. 

Pinot Grigio works well with light based fish dishes, such as shrimp, ahi tuna, or mussels. The flavor of the Pinot is a bit more sweeter than a Chardonnay, so the light fishes aren’t so overbearing . A Chardonnay would pair well with fatty fish in heavy sauces such as tilapia in a lemon butter sauce, or cod, dipped in a heavy wine sauce. These are all amazing wines, and if your planning on drinking your favorites over the holidays, try pairing it with an amazing meal.

Of course I have Splurges just like everyone else!


Hi ladies!

I’ve had a few emails over theimage weekend of some followers asking me if I ever Splurge on any type of food.. Well the answer is yes. Of course. You live once right? You can’t go through life not enjoying your favorite things. You just have to have a balance with it, and only leave it at a once in a while splurge. If you do it everyday, you will not feel good for one, and if you have been working hard in the gym, your definitely not going to see your results you have been working so hard for. I eat very healthy through the week, and very clean. I make meals, that my family loves, but yet I make the substitutions if needed , to make them healthy. My husband makes food all the time, and he is more of a ” taste” person, so in his mind, taste is using more of different ingredients than me. I do splurge once a weekend, and when I do, it’s not huge. I just don’t feel good when I’ve are things that aren’t healthy.,My splurges are somewhat healthy, it can be in other words.. I’m not talking about expensive splurges. I’m talking about giving yourself that one thing that you love. Well I’m a huge wine lover , and I absolutely love , and it’s my all time favorite is Silver oak. It’s just amazing, and I love to drink it on more relaxing nights with my husband. I also love dark chocolate bars. Preferably 70 percent dark chocolate. I know your thinking , well that’s healthy, and it is, but not as much as I love to eat it. I love guacamole with chips also, which is a weakness. I do make my own version, and it’s so much healthier. My last splurge , which I try to not eat this very often, is a Reese cups, and yes , they aren’t good for you, but you live once in your life, and you do have to enjoy all the finer things every once in a while!
