Ive written about the importance of fitness, and moving your body everyday. If you have a certain gym membership, or have been hitting up the latest yoga class, when you leave town it can seem a bit stressful to think that you will have to miss that class or gym day. No worries! This day in age, it is so easy just to pack your gym with you. It sounds a bit crazy, but I know a lot of people that do it, including myself. If I am staying in a hotel, I usually hit their gym, but if I’m going to visit friends, or staying in a secluded area, I take my gym essentials with me. I’m not saying that you can’t go find a gym , or grab a class at the nearest gym, but to save the hassle, you can take some great products with you , that you can do in the comfort of wherever you are staying. If you are into stretching , or light yoga, grab your yoga mat, and a video , and do your yoga. For the core workouts, and arm work, you can grab some dumbells, and a great koreball that I love, and work those abs. Moving doesn’t need to difficult, or fancy, or luxurious Everytime you workout. You need yourself sometimes, and a few great things to get that workout started. Resistance bands are great to take on small trips. You can use those bands in many ways that hit a lot of muscle groups. The next time you leave town , and start stressing about how you are going to get that workout in, or where your going to find a gym, save yourself the stress and pack it. You may end up loving it better than that class your taking , or loving the convienence.
It’s Wednesday, and I want my Wednesdays to be based around healthiness, and how to live a more healthy lifestyle. I did a post on Cardio importance, and I want to cover the basis of a good cute workout ensemble, and how much does it motivate our workouts? Well I have to say for me, that wearing a cute outfit always helps me to feel better when going to the gym. I feel when I have a good pair of dri fit shorts, or great comfortable stretch capris on, that I move better, and feel more comfortable, and less stressed during that hour. I LOVE workout clothes, and I can never have enough of Lululemon. I find that I am on their website each week looking at their amazing clothes, and I feel just having good comfortable clothes on, whether I’m taking a class, or running, or the occasional bike ride with my daughter, that I feel better. There are so many brands including www.athleta.com , or www.lululemon.com, to name a few of my favorites , that they are making comfortable clothes quite fabulous. I have so many yoga cardigans and shawls that I take with me on nights out, just because they are fashionable, yet comfy. Who doesn’t love the matching tanks with the great looking pants. I love fashion, and fashion doesn’t consist of casual wear. for me , it extends into fitness. If you want to look good when you go to your dinners, why not look good when you go to the gym, minus the makeup of course. Do you have a great workout ensemble you would like to share? Please send your photos to fit and Bliss! We would love to share them.
We all know how crazy our schedules can be, trying to fit in everything we want to do or have to do, and it’s very easy to fall off track, or get sidetracked on our fitness routines. There are some great ways to stay motivated and keep going everyday to stay in shape and get moving.
– always try to keep a journal. If you are eating well, and feeling energized and great, you aren’t going to want to fall off the wagon. Looking in your journal, and seeing how you gave been eating and what you have been eating will keep you on the right track.
– try to avoid eating out at places that do not offer healthy entrees. One thing that happens to a lot of people, is they go out to lunch or dinner more often than not, and tend to eat fatty meals loaded with sodium. Believe me when I say this.. 90 percent of the salads offered, are not healthy! Try eating regular natural foods from home.
– mark out your day with one hour of you time. Take that one hour and go workout. Take a class, go for a run, or go take a yoga class. You are moving and that’s all you need.
– get a goal of what you want to achieve. Whether it’s a picture or something else, keep it close and work your butt off to get there. You can do it!!
I hope everyone’s morning is off to a fantastic start. We all know how important it is to get your workout in, and get your heart pumping. Well I feel people really doesn’t know the importance of cooling down after their workout. I’ve been at the gym multiple times to see a woman get off an elliptical , and then stopping and jumping off and heading home. It’s great she got her workout in, but cooling down is just as important to stay healthy. One of the most important aspects of a proper cool down is to prevent yourself from getting dizzy. Strenuous exercise causes your blood vessels to expand, which in turn causes blood to go to the lower legs and feet. When you stop exercising , that blood can sit in the legs causing your heart rate to drop and cause dizziness. If you are on a machine such as the treadmill, or the elliptical, and you get your heart rate up to a certain level, once you are done, slow the speed up and walk for five to ten minutes. If you are at a class, try cooling down with some light stretching. Light yoga is great. Make sure to hydrate well during your exercises too. Cooling down is just as important as the workout itself.
